I don't remember when I started noticing how often I saw that actual time, it was sometime after Owen was a few months old. At first I thought it was funny and would think- 'Hey, it's 11:11. How weird I caught that time again.' (What can I say, sometimes I'm a slow learner.) After some months, I decided when I noticed it on my phone, I'd take a picture. Sometimes it's been in the morning, sometimes at night. I haven't planned out to turn my phone on or check the clock at that time either. And truthfully, I'm not organized or with it enough to do that anyway!
Go ahead and think I'm crazy if you want but I felt it one day when I saw the time at 11:11 again. I felt this impression very clear in my mind- 'Owen is such a bright spot in your life, he is a tender mercy from the Lord'. Turning on my phone at 11:11, looking at the car radio at 11:11, seeing my alarm clock at 11:11. I believe they're little reminders from my Heavenly Father to look for and focus on all the tender mercies in my life. No matter how small, insignificant or silly they may seem to someone else, each one is a personal witness to me.
He knows me.
He knows when I need to be recognized.
He knows when I need to be recognized.
He is aware of my heart.
He loves me.
Of that I'm sure.
He loves me.
Of that I'm sure.

Melanie, this is one.great.post. What an incredible mercy.
This makes sense to me. I notice little tender mercies like that too that mean something to me personally. In fact, my Evan's affectionate ways with me have been a big tender mercy from the Lord and even blossoms on a tree that had never bloomed before but did on the day I needed it most - a tender mercy that would mean zero to someone else, but everything to me.
Tender mercies that is for sure....
I notice things like this also.
Tender mercies are so personal and so meaningful. A definite thing.
So sweet to recognize things like this
