I can't believe the energy I had today. I just want to write it down because really with this pregnancy days like this have been few and far between. I still have a while to go but I was full force in 'nesting' mode. (I have no memory of when I hit the 'nesting' phase with the others. This feels so soon. When did you 'nest'?) We had our ward dinner last night and someone was talking about early labor and being on bed rest and how scary that can be. I have no symptoms of either and no reason to think that I will go through that (thank heavens) but it put me into gear today! Something my house sorely needed.I was going to go shopping today but never found someone to go with and I wasn't that motivated anyway so it was no big deal. I spent the morning (while Milo helped someone in our ward move) cleaning out drawers, organizing under my bed and trashing stuff I have no idea why I kept in the first place. I am so guilty of that. I don't mean to hang on to stuff I don't need, I just don't throw it away. It's a stupid cycle. I loved getting rid of all that junk! Milo was a little shocked when he came home but definitely welcomed this new 'nesting' phase.
My dad had sent the kids some money for their birthday and so we were going to let them go pick out something at out mall (aka Walmart, HA!). Then I started thinking, they already had new toys, are going to get new toys for Christmas and that right now, they really didn't 'need' anything. So I asked them if instead of a new toy would they like to go to the movie with popcorn and treats. That was met with screams of yes and jumping up and down. So we headed to the Bee Movie at 3 this afternoon. They all thought they were big stuff because they paid for themselves and each had their own ticket. Pretty cute. It was perfect timing, not too many people and not right during dinner. The kids are getting so much easier to take to movies, they used to be up and down and all over the place and it was hard to stay calm and even want to take them in the first place. I love that they just need some popcorn, a drink and a little candy and they are good to go for the whole thing. Cute movie by the way, all the kids liked it.When we got home and made it through dinner, I was still obsessed with my vacuum. I started vacuuming my walls! I probably shouldn't confess this but I rarely do that task and was so proud of the project when I finished. Milo came in, saw me and started laughing, he said he loves this phase of pregnancy. Less work for him and I'm not as bored. I guess that makes for a good combo. Too bad it doesn't happen everyday and let's hope it doesn't take a couple days to recover. Oh well, it was totally worth it!

I love that phase of pregnancy, too! It feels so good to have energy and to accomplish lots. Here's hoping there's no price to pay in the aftermath.
Ditto to Michelle's comments! I love the nesting phase. I'm so glad it attends a birth...it sure beats the contractions.
My house could use that phase. I have a feeling it won't hit until after Christmas and then it will be crazy.
This post made me laugh!! I NEED to hit the nesting phase and I need to hit it soon! I have so much to do, so much cleaning and organizing, not to mention Christmas shopping!! The funny thing is, the last two days I have felt better than I have in months...lets hope it lasts long enough for me to get something accomplished! Good for you!!
YAY! for nesting. Why don't we have that when we're not pregnant. I remember taking everything out of my big hall closet and trashing and reorganizing it. It was such a sense of accomplishment.
Now that the kids are getting old enough to sit through a movie, when you have the new baby, you can send them with Milo and you guys can have some bonding time...or vice versa.
I am so excited for you. So when is your due date?
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving :)
I started the nesting with Dall about now too. So impressed with the busy weekend.
I have had a few days I felt like I was in nesting mode too, but can't figure out why it is so early. I know one reason is that I needed to get our house ready to put on the market. It was in desperate need of some dejunking and reorganizing. I have also been up at 4:45 am the past two mornings and at the gym by 5:15. Now that is so not like me. What is up with this 4th pregancy?
Good luck on the rest of your nesting.
I don't remember nesting phases... I think back then it was more how I lived all the time... However I am in a nesting phase right now... as in my parents will be here in 5 hours kind of nesting. I love it. Why do I forget that I like to clean?
I hope you keep feeling good!
I loved this time as well and knew that I had to take full advantage of it! I love vacuuming and am quite obsessed with it! I'm sure that it felt great to get so much accomplished! Hope you are feeling well! Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
My nesting phases start earlier with each pregnancy. I guess there is so much more work to do each time I have to. I enjoy that phase. I love feeling like I am getting something accoplished since I haven't done much the rest of the precnancy.
Glad to hear the movie was fun!
You have to love the nesting thing. Vacuuming walls? Maybe I should hire you for the next month :)
I read this a couple days ago right before bed. I love the bits of energy that comes some days. It feels so good to get things accomplished! How fun to go and see the Bee Movie. I remember getting money as a kid and how fun that always was to spend it!
my nesting usually starts a month and a half before the baby is born. It's awesome. I clean places that have never been cleaned or never will be cleaned again. At least they get it once. It's kind of manic, but good manic.
Uh-oh. It's been a few days . . . are you still recovering?
Loved the picture of the nest at the top - I knew just where this post was going.
Thank goodness for bursts of energy in between all the tiredness and low energy that pregnancy brings!
