Loved and Supported

Kathryn was baptized last Saturday and I hope she always remembers what a special night it was. She is loved and supported by so, so many (actually I felt the love for me, for Milo, actually for our whole family). What a turn out for her (and for us). She is always happy but that night it was evident just looking at her sweet face. Giddy, happy, excited, a little nervous when it came time to enter the font and so innocent. All rolled into one. She counted down the days until it was her special day. She clapped her hands together when I told her one more day on Friday. It was so precious.

I can't believe we are already reaching milestones with her. Getting baptized is a big thing. The room was so packed with family (all sides) and friends and I cried as people looked for more chairs to crowd into the room. Without the love and support of the loved ones that were there, the last 4.5 years (pushing 5 actually) might have been too hard to bear. The opening song, "Come Follow Me" (that I did not pick or know what it would be) was perfect and I cried through the last 2 verses. The room sounded like a practiced choir. To me at least and when everyone was singing, the spirit filled me. So many people in a small room sound good! Marion gave the opening prayer and I cried through that too. I was so proud of Kathryn for listening to all the speakers. She listened while the grandma of the other little boy gave a talk on baptism and my mom gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. She listened to the bishop, answered questions and smiled through the whole thing. Thanks for taking part Grandmas, I know that meant a lot to her and I know she'll remember it. You both know her memory!

With all the chaos of a packed room, I didn't get a family photo of us at the church (or one of Kat in her white clothes standing next to Milo, the standard baptism photo or one with her and I) so I told the boys they weren't going anywhere when we got inside until Grandma got a decent photo. It has it's flaws but will have to do. Can you tell Dane was done for the night and wanted that 'wedding shirt' off?

The next morning as we're walking out the door for church, I had my mom snap one of the two of us. I'm so proud of Kat. She is such a strong spirit and is a huge example to me. I know Heavenly Father saved her for these last days. She is such a blessing and while it hasn't always been easy, I know every single moment is worth it. Without a doubt, I know she's an answer to many prayers. Offered by many people. That cannot be denied. Sitting at her baptism, I almost felt like watching her grow up is in super speed. How is she 8? How? So much in a little life and with more to come, I am just eternally grateful for all the wonderful people she has in her corner. That we as a family have in our corner. Thank you. Thank you.
