Snow Day....

Today was sort of a bust. I have liked having the kids home on break, the easy mornings, the nowhere to go days, but it was time for us to get back to some sort of routine around here. The one we used to have just a couple weeks ago (but somehow it feels like months). But no....a nice storm rolls through last night and we have a snow day (first one this year) this first day back from vacation. The same thing happened last year when I had a 2 week old. Someone does not want me to enjoy this first day back!

The kids were good. They played all morning making a fort on the bottom bunk and even dividing it into rooms (no idea why I didn't take a photo of their creation). That went ok for about an hour. Until they realized when they moved too much they ruined each others 'room'. Then the fighting started and we had to move onto another game. Thank heavens for the Wii. Dane bowled a 155 today.

I finished all the laundry (until the morning that is) and got a little more organized. It's a never ending battle for me to stay on top of things. Just when I feel accomplished, something else gets behind.

I have had such good blogging intentions the past couple weeks. I have something I want to post about, write about, document. I write the posts in my head, think about the photos. And then the moment passes and I can't remember all I wanted to say (this post is an example, ha). Or how I was feeling. Or what I needed to work through. I don't blog well after the fact. Period. Posting in the moment (or somewhat close to the moment) is a commitment. I'm setting that as one of my goals this year. It's too hard to have me on my blog when I'm faking though the post that was 5 days ago. And this is my blog. About me and my life as I learn and grow with Milo while raising our kids, staying home, surviving and getting through the day to day. I feel like I've lost a little bit of why I started blogging in the first place and it's my goal to get it back.

Now after that little speech, I'll be catching up on what I didn't blog about this past weekend. Kathryn was baptized Saturday and it was perfect. Sunday I found use #57 on a sweet polyester blanket my grandma made. More on both later. Hopefully tomorrow. Please let there be school....

Wow, a snow day on the first day back from vacation 2 years in a row! I'm sure moms everywhere groaned.

This totally cracks me up..."Dane bowled a 155 today."

I wish you good luck with your in-the-moment postings this year!

I'll email that picture to you either tonight, or tomorrow.

I'm glad that the kids were able to go back today...I hope you had a good day with them gone! Ha

I'm glad to be home, but now I really need to get to work. Take down Christmas decor and switch to my new computer are at the top of my list!!

Wow, no school both years- that is ironic. I need to go bowling with Dane. He might beat me (on the wii).

Dane and Jared should bowl together. He is talented at it too. Impressive!

Like you I always forget when I don't blog in the moment. I think that is why I have been really trying hard to post every day even though that is a little insane at times. Glad you are posting more!
