Packing Snow

With all the snow we've gotten this year, we've yet to have a really good packing snow so the kids could make a nice, big snowman. There has been lots of icy snow and the kids have been frustrated trying to build a big snowman. I knew snow was in the forecast for today but that's doesn't always mean we'll really get any (weathermen!). Today they got it right, we woke up to 3 or so inches this morning and it was perfect snowman snow.

We had plenty of cleaning to be done indoors (grandma comes tomorrow, yeah) but we let the kids skip all that after breakfast and don the snow gear. First they shoveled the walk. In classic Dane fashion, he has a dirty face and a dirty coat.

Reed copying the boys and climbing our 'tree' in the front. Thankfully it's more like a bush with tree branches so he wasn't high off the ground, brave boy.

They made snow kids! One of them a snow giant.

I made them stand next to their snowman because I thought they looked so cute and happy by the one they made. In one photo, Kat is literally hugging her snow girl. Dane was very particular about the rocks for his mouth and buttons, I love how many he used.

You can't see it very well in this photo but Kat spent most of her time in the snow crafting and sculpting a snow cat, haha. She molded the ears and body, found little tiny twigs for the eyes and then had me clip some thin branches for whiskers. This girl cracks me up.

We had to have a photo with their big, buff daddy that almost couldn't get the head of Nathan's snowman on. Especially since Nathan made all three balls the same size..... just to make sure his snowman was the biggest. So perfectly Nate's personality. Love you buddy!

One more photo of almost the same thing, today Reed discovered you can eat snow. He had his mitten full of snow, eating it the whole time he was out there. Let's just hope he remembers not to eat black or yellow snow, ha!

We finally woke up to some serious snow this morning, and the kids are out there reveling in it!

It cracks me up that Kat sculpted a snow cat, that's totally something Whitney would do.
