Conference Snuggles

We were supposed to have 4 soccer games today (2 for Nate, one for Kat and Dane) and I was feeling bad we wouldn't catch much of conference as a family. Kathryn's game was cancelled as was one of Nate's. Perfect! It was still come and go for Milo since I stayed home with Owen and Reed but we all caught something.

I was able to watch nearly every talk from the morning session. I found something I needed to hear in every. single. talk. I've been reading old conference talks the past couple weeks and it really did prepare me to hear the messages today. Milo and Nathan came home just in time to hear President Eyring's talk at the end of the morning session. Wow, what an uplifting talk full of encouragement and hope. I can't wait to read/watch it again. It was that good. I love him and connected with his message today. I find it amazing so many of us (I'm assuming anyway) feel the messages in conference are so personal and fit the needs of what is going on in our lives right now. I felt that way today more than ever before and I'm grateful for it. I'm grateful He is aware of what I need to hear and feel on any given day, even today. What a blessing.

This afternoon, Milo was back at the soccer field for Dane's game. The kids sat with me to sustain the church leaders, even Thomas S. Monson as our prophet and then each filtered in and out for the rest of the session (I'm not too strict on having them sit through all Sat). Jeffery R.Holland's talk was equally amazing. He doesn't mix words, he is direct an another powerful witness. It was also a great session.

Owen rarely falls asleep when someone is holding him, he prefers his bed over too much holding. Today during the afternoon session when the other kids were quiet upstairs, he fell asleep in my arms. Not often enough am I able to just sit and snuggle my baby. He's growing much to fast for my liking so I sat and held him for almost 2 hours.

He's a heavy guy so after awhile I had to lay him down. And then I nearly cried because he took up my whole lap. (Isn't is so sad and happy all at once?)

I'm definitely looking forward to the Sunday sessions of conference, full of more messages meant just for me (sorry if you think they are for you).
