Watch These. Make This.

Watch these-

I remember when President Eyring gave this talk, Mountains to Climb, last April. It strengthened me then and again today with this new Mormon Message. Don't you love these videos? This past year it has been so evident how much the Lord is aware of me. Be it in the last 5 or 6 Mormon Messages (truly I feel a personal message in each of them), nearly every General Conference talk or many of the talks/lessons at church. He knows what I need to hear. I loved watching this today, another tender mercy.

And for good measure, here's my favorite Mormon Message. I've posted it before but I've watched it quite a few times this past week so I thought I'd share it again.

 Make this-

I made this yesterday for a lunch group we have once a month in my ward. It was really good and very easy. I found it on Pinterest, no surprise there. Actually making it, quite the surprise. The recipe needed a little modifying because it called for too much oil (our plates were greasy afterwards, I left out the vegetable oil in the beginning and next time, I think even less sesame oil). I'm adding what I did for the recipe, here is her post. I also added cooked chicken breast. Yum, wish I had some left overs.

Spicy Thai Noodles
1 box linguine noodles/angel hair pasta, cooked/drained
1/2-1 TBS crushed red pepper (I used 1 TBS and it was spicy but I liked it. It would've been too spicy for my kids)
1/2c sesame oil
6 TBS honey
6 TBS soy sauce
1/2c green onion
1/4- 1/2c cilantro to taste
2 peeled/grated carrots
toasted sesame seeds (opt)

Cook oil and red pepper over medium heat for 2 minutes. Strain flakes and reserve oil. To oil add honey and soy sauce (I used what it called for but I think it could be less). Toss mixture with cooked noodles (I really don't think you need all of it. I'm going to try using less of the liquid next time). Add green onion, cilantro, carrots, peanuts, sesame seeds and chicken if desired.

She chills it and serves it cold, we all liked it hot. In the comments on her blog someone added chunky peanut butter to the sauce and omitted the peanuts. I thought that sounded good too. I'm sure this is an add whatever you like sort of dish. I'm definitely going to make it again.

I'm going to try those spicy noodles. Many in our family would love them.

I do love Mormon Messages. I think they're powerful. What a wonderful way to teach us truths.
