Though most of my time on Pinterest has been a waste of pinning and liking without much making, this post is to show not all of it has been.

I thought this would look cute in Kat's room. I set out for some beadboard, paint and letters. Kat decided on the word hope instead of love. I liked this plain font best but Kat chose the one below and the whimsical lines fit her perfectly. As does the word hope. The letters she chose aren't quite as big but still filled up most of the board.

This was a really easy project but I have one big piece of advice. Use glue very sparingly. I used too much gorilla glue (which didn't seem like too much at all when I was putting it on) and it seeped through the lines in the wood behind a couple letters. We worked it out (chipped all the extra glue off with a razor blade) and hung it up this afternoon but it's far from perfect. That's called character around a couple letters, right? I hung it up with Command strips that promise to hold 16 pounds. I warned Kat if she heard slipping wood in the night to roll off her bed quickly. I'm trusting Command on this one.

 I've suffered from dark circles under my eyes for nearly as long as I've lived. At least it feels that way. What a hereditary gift to hand down, huh? I saw this pin and went for the bait. I agree with this makeup artist, the pie shaped concealer covers the nasty dark circles much better that the standard under they eye trick. Now she has me pretty curious about the eye de-puffer. I'm not a makeup gadget person but I just might give this one a try. Remember my sad, saggy eyelid visit to the eye doctor last summer? I sure do. I'll keep you posted.

This started out as a pin I found on Pinterest but I ended up using this recipe with my activity day girls last week. It was easy for them to follow and made a big enough batch to split between girls. We made four batches in less than 40 minutes. I think the girls liked it so much because of how it smelled. Reed is after me to buy more Kool Aid, he wants his own batch now.

Kool Aid Play Doh

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup salt
2 (4 g) packages unsweetened Kool-Aid powdered drink mix
2 cups boiling water
3 tablespoons oil

4 tsp cream of tartar (added ingredient suggested in the comments)

1- Mix flour, salt, Kool-Aid until blended.
2- Add oil to boiling water, mix with spoon until cool enough to knead.
3- Continue kneading until color is blended.
4- Store in air tight bag or container in the refrigerator.

Cake Mix Waffles

Last weekend after the two little boys went to bed, the rest of us watched a movie. Or maybe it was Studio C on the BYU channel, I can't remember. Man, my kids are obsessed with that show. Anyway I was not doing a very good job of sitting still, I needed a project. I remembered seeing a pin about cake mix waffles. Make the mix according to the box, bake like regular waffles and top with ice cream for a less crumbly cake treat. They had me at less crumbly. I didn't eat one or even try a bite (very unlike me, I love sweets but I wasn't feeling like sweets at 930pm) so this review is coming straight from the kids mouths..... Yum! Delicious! Can I have another?! And my very favorite when I asked what they tasted like...... 'A cake-waffle!'. Goodness that made me laugh.
